What to Expect

Bethel Baptist Church is the people, not the building. Our people come from all walks of life and reflect the local culture. We have 'from here's' & 'come here's', teachers, builders, accountants, watermen, business owners, nurses, tradesmen, and people who work retail. We are mostly young & middle aged families, and a few older folks too. Although "Baptist" is in our church name, we are a group of believers that place the Gospel & teaching of Scripture above any denominational religion and affiliation.

Our services are a blend of traditional and modern. There is no dress code. Some people come casual while some come in more formal attire. The music and service order are structured to support the message & doctrine of the service. Although we have piano and guitar players, we often use worship video for our hymns & choruses. We have a 'baby-quiet' room for when little ones get fussy. This 'quiet room' is right in our sanctuary, so parent and child can stay right in the service.

We use the biblical example of church organization. We are autonomous and self governing. This means the church, nor it's pastor are controlled by denominational hierarchy. This allows the local church to choose the best way to minister in it's community, to choose it's own pastors, and which missionaries to support.
